FORT BENNING, Ga. - The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) is excited to announce that the inaugural Army Strong Collegiate Shooting Championships, on course to be the biggest multiple-discipline, shoulder-to-shoulder gathering of collegiate and junior shooters in the history of competitive shooting, will commence March 13-18 at Fort Benning, GA
The dynamic format will draw the top college and junior shooters from the entire country competing in four distinct championships: Scholastic Steel Challenge (SSC) Collegiate Championships, the National Rifle Association Intercollegiate Pistol Championships; the NRA Intercollegiate Rifle Club Championship; and the Scholastic Clay Target Program Challenge (SCTP).
The SSC Collegiate Championships is scheduled for March 17 and expects a full match. SSC partners Glock and Smith & Wesson will have loaner guns for teams that are accustomed to traveling with firearms. Ammunition from Atlanta Arms and Ammunition will be available on a presale basis (and shipped to the teams at the match) so squads will not have to ship ammo. Junior / Senior High Schools teams are also invited to shoot. These teams will be shooting for the title of Top Gun of the SSC Junior / Senior Invitational at The SSC Collegiate Championships. For those teams wishing additional information on the Championships and how to register or prepay for ammo visit www.scholasticsteelchallenge.com or contact: Scott Moore by email or by phone at 602.930.7778.
